The Tricky Thing About Power

You have no more
power than you believe you have.
You believed you lost your power over them,
then you indeed stopped exercising it
then you really lost your power ... simply because you lost your belief.
You failed to realize that your true power over them never diminished,
only it seemed to because they, the car
suddenly could drive fewer miles and could climb fewer hills.
"You have no more power than you believe" is not only a limiter, but an enabler.
Over confident people often attempt to exercise more power than they deserve, and ...
when they are successful at exercising it,
actually gain it. --- wjones

My Present

As a tide that
flows in and out, where I am in life undulates with the many waves
that also make my movement.
I may be Water, and that is unchanging. That is what you may call my life goal or destination. Yet I see it less a goal and more simply, "what I am", because I believe I now am all that I ever may be. But ...
I may also be at high tide, a status that changes slowly and reflects one of my many passion states. If I approach a passion state once, I know it will become a state ever part of my path, something that I will be nearer to and sometime farther from, but always enroute to ... coming into view sometimes each day, each month or on odd decades. Yet ...
I am also the waves, up and down ... ever swaying as I revisit the tide states of my life. --- wjones

The Journey

For some reason
at this phase of life I feel a need to be less concerned about the
destination and more concerned about the road.
The greatest journey does not always take you to the best destination.
Of course, we all share the same ultimate destination, and it is not life. --- wjones More...

Tombstone

A tough thing
about life in America is that it can often be very lacking in
purpose. We accumulate many things, but little real wealth.
One of the self help exercises I am working on is the writing of my tombstone.
If someone were to summarize my life in a few short words after my death, what would those words to be?
I think that understanding these words will help me better find my true path.
I also hope that once I am on the true path, the emptiness will go away. More...

"You are the
world, the neighbor, the friend, the so-called enemy. If you would
understand, you must first understand yourself, for in you is the
root of all understanding. In you is the begining and the
end."
If you are very clear, if you are inwardly light onto yourself, you will never follow anyone" ----J. Krishnamurti More...
