Cortical Mica was designed to enable Assistant and Nexus class agents to combine abstract and real symbols as a single flat reality context. This was to enable Expression processing compatible with human-style reality streams, also called consciousness.

Figure - Combining Real and Abstract Contexts<br />Humans combine both real and abstract contexts in the generation of conscious reality streams. Nexus, assistant and persona class agents will construct similar realities to be compatible with human expression.

Figure - Combining Real and Abstract Contexts
Humans combine both real and abstract contexts in the generation of conscious reality streams. Nexus, assistant and persona class agents will construct similar realities to be compatible with human expression.
Cortical Gia is a special type of Ema Translation optimized for abstract symbol processing required to generate and determine context from text, speech, pictures and other Expression communication. An abstract context is best illustrated by example:
  • If a woman were to walk to a Eastern United States ocean pier, she would plan to process Forms related in context to the smell of salt water, the sound of waves, the sight of sea gulls. These are all examples of real contexts.
  • If she were travelling with other people, she might also expect to hear in conversation or read on signage words such as “ocean breeze”, “creaky plank”, and “buttery popcorn.” Words spoken or read, drawings, video and pictures are all examples of abstract contexts.

Gia processing in the Ema and Mica cellular models only senses and plans real context. Cortical Gia translates between real and abstract context so that the total array of near contexts will be available for Goal Pursuit.
